Hartleyvale Stadium

The stadium was designed in association with GAPP Architects as a national and regional field hockey facility to boost South Africa’s bid to host the 2004 Olympics. The complex integrates with the surrounding residential area, the sensitive Liesbeek River precinct, with due consideration for mountain and surrounding green belt views. The complex was awarded the CIA award of merit in 1997 and the South African Institute of Architects Award of Excellence in 2008.
