Liesbeek River

The 9km long Liesbeek River is the oldest urbanized river in South Africa. It originates in the slopes above Kirstenbosch and flows down to merge with the Black River at the Two Rivers Urban Park in Observatory. The Liesbeek cycle lane runs parallal to the river and provides cyclists a full separation from road traffic along the majority of the route. This portion of infrastructure will be connected to the city though demarcated cycle lanes currently under construction along Albert Road.
